Objectives:
After this class, students will be able to:

3. discuss issues of personal relevance.

Agenda:
1. Warm-Up: Welcome back!! Make a list of five things that you did or that happened to you over the Winter Break.

2. Very Important Dates: Write these down!!
a. Semester test on Wednesday 01/09/08.
b. Make-up work due Friday 01/11/08. Grades go in that weekend. You will be given a make-up work sheet on Monday.
c. THE NEW DUE DATE FOR THE SENIOR PROJECT IS FRIDAY 02/01/08!!!
d. Report cards distributed to your parents in the evening on 02/05/08.

3. Brainstorm: Write 1/2 page - Guns on New Year's Eve... is this really a problem? What do you know about this issue? How can erratic firing be controlled? Students will reflect on how this issues affects their neighborhood and what can be done to correct it, if anything.

4. Brainstorm: Write two sentences for each: What can you do to make this year better for... a. yourself? b. your parents? c. your friends? d. your teachers?

Homework: Students should continue to work on their senior project assignments.
