I think self-esteem is self made! Certain people don't think high of them selves because of them. I believe that family problems and other things have some sort of effect on people, but as far it lowering and higher self esteem is up to the person. I think a person is responsible for their actions, and should let certain situations interfer in others.

I think self-esteem depends on the level of confidence a teenager has. Some teens can be very confident about themselves and some teens just does not feel great about themselves. Teens can sometimes suffer from family problems and that can effect them in a bad way. Last, i think each teenager is responsible for their actions and no right from wrong and to always be positive about themselves.
I think self-esteem depends on the level of confidence an individual has as steve said. If they are not confident in whatever they do they will not feel good about themselves. They will not try to do new things. They just let people judge them and they take the criticism. They rather be judge by others than not worrying about what they say
Well about the article I don't think that the race thing is proving anything. Self esteem in general is all about the person and how she/he were raised . Also the people the the teenager is around. Sometimes the society that we live in can really effect the teen.
In my opinion I think that self esteem comes to those who want it. Many kids dont have self esteembecause they dont want it. It is not something that is giving to you, but it is something you have take if you want it.I dont think race has anyhting to do with self esteem
I believe that self esteem is self made. No one can make u feel more confident about your self. you have to gain confident on your own
i think that self esteem is what you make it because if you think that you are trash people are going to treat you that way. if you treat yourself with respect than other people will treat you with respect. you have to have confidence in your self and know that you are beautiful
SELF ESTEEM IS WHAT YOU FEEL NOBODY BUT YOU ,ANYONE CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE UGLY BUT THATS UP TO YOU TO GO BY WHAT PEOPLE SAY.WHAT PEOPLE SAY SHOULD MATTER CUZ AT THE END OF THE DAY ITS WHAT YOU FEEL.
well for one i dont get the point of them letting us know the race of the children that took the test. other than that just remember misery loves company and thats something you dont need to entertain.
I think self esteem is what you feel about yourself and and how confident you are. It doesn't matter if you are pretty or ugly its what the inside that counts. It is how you feel about yourself, don't think about what everyone else say.
what i feel is that self esteem can effect the way student act and the grades they get in school. Black students may relate to this because people do have a stero-type on how we act. this effects them and makes them feel like they must be that. also they have to have good self esteem in order to stay focused and get good grades, not care what people say about them.
self esteem is up to you it does effect the way you act and what you do especially your school work but if you do have low self esteem i think you should go talk to some one about it maybe a family member or your school counsler.
I think self esteem is gained over time. People gain self esteem according to their everyday encounters. For example if a person is constantly being told they are ugly they will began to believe it. If a person is constantly being told they are beautiful and loved they will believe it and have the highest self esteem in the world. I think self esteem starts at home with the parents love and care.
To me confidence is important to every teenager because if you arent cofident and you dont believe in yourself then you wouldnt live a normal life.Self esteem in teenagers is the most common then an anyone else because its always somebody bringing you down about what you wear how you look or what you did.But in all honestly i believe self-esteem is a key in life.
